A varied programme of activities is open to local residents and the general public. All events start at the site unless mentioned otherwise, see below for a map.

Our community gardening session runs every Monday (excluding bank holidays) between 10am and 4pm. Everyone is welcome, including children accompanied by an adult.

Forage and Feast – Saturday 18th May 10am to 3pm

Join experienced forager Craig Worrel for a fascinating day of foraging for edible plants in and around Woodbank Memorial Park. Woodbank’s fantastic mixture of habitats and native trees makes it the perfect place to make the most of the Spring-time bounties that can be found in Britain’s parks, woodlands and hedgerows. You’ll also get the chance to cook and taste your foraged finds.

Meet at the hub from 9.45am.

Open Farm Sunday – Sunday 9th June 10.30am – 2.00pm

Come along for a tour of  the site and a chance to meet our enthusiastic FarmStart trainees and learn about Stockfree organic growing. You’ll also get the opportunity to hear about our pioneering Kindling Farm and to get a glimpse into what it will look like. Refreshments will also be provided.

Tours will be taking place at set times throughout the day. Booking is essential.

Introduction to Bee Keeping – Saturday 15th June 10.00 – 11.30am / 1 – 2.30pm

Come and learn about the bees that live at Woodbank Community Food Hub! You will get to learn about their habits and communication methods by getting suited up and getting up close and personal with the hives!

£5 per person. Booking is essential.

Floristry Workshop – Saturday 6th July 10am to 1pm

Using freshly picked flowers and foliage from the garden, experienced florist Fran will guide you in creating a beautiful summer display to take home with you. You’ll learn how to arrange different types of flowers, plants and herbs and how to keep your display fresh for as long as possible.

All materials and refreshments provided.

Drawing and Printing Workshop – Saturday 20th July 10am – 1pm

Taking inspiration from the flowers and plants in the gardens, we will use drawing and simple printing techniques in order to produce a series of exciting images for you to take home.
