A varied programme of activities is open to local residents and the general public. All events start at the site unless mentioned otherwise, see below for a map.

Our community gardening session runs every Monday (excluding bank holidays) between 11am and 1pm. Everyone is welcome, including children accompanied by an adult. We are also open every Thursday between 9.30am and 11am or 3.30 and 6pm, for anyone who would just like to pop in for a brew, a chat and a chance to meet new people.

Bat Walk

A walk around Woodbank Park in search of bats!

Saturday  1st September 7.45pm – 9.00pm  

No registration required, just turn up. 

Children accompanied by an adult are very welcome. Please bring a torch as the walk will be taking place in the dark. Donations welcome on the day.


Wild Food Foraging Walk

Join experienced forager and wild food expert Jesper Launder, for an afternoon of exploring Woodbank Memorial Park for some interesting edible finds.

Woodwork Day with Autumnal Lunch 

Join us for a chance to learn or put into practice your woodwork skills. And to sample some of crops we’ve grown at Woodbank this year, in the form of a delicious Autumn soup and Woodbank Apple and Blackberry pie!

Festive Wreath Making Workshop

Saturday 8th December 10.30am to 1pm

£12 per person – Registration required 

Experienced horticulturalist Fran will be leading a day of festive crafts and refreshments. With guidance from Fran, you’ll get the chance to create and take home your very own festive wreath.
